[Rewrite] What is LostWorld?

Having trouble Buying products during an outbreak? Having too many doubts whether any ecommerce site is actually secure? Introducing LostWorld ecommerce site at your service. LostWorld is an ecommerce website that is stationed in Cambodia only. This website is the gathering of all shops in Cambodia both online and offline. LostWorld is a place where there is no need for travel or need to be in the area to buy the local products, a place where you can buy anything in the Cambodia market and get delivered to you safe and secure.

  1. Origin of LostWorld

Lost is a word that usually refers to some undiscovered ancient places or objects that are valuable to the world or at least to someone. World is a word meant for everything that is around us or a place where we value very much. Both words have something in common. “Values” is the main core of this title. LostWorld is an ecommerce project that me and my team came up with when we are studying Growth hacking. At first we wanted to combine our name for the project name as the founders together. But we came to an agreement that it is not that attractive so we decided to change to something more of a catch and meaningful. Lost world was what I came up with for it means that a world that has not been found yet. For a deeper meaning it means that this ecommerce website has been waiting for everyone to discover it.

  1. What is this project about?

In my country, Cambodia, We do not have a system where buying and selling online can travers easily. I do not mean that facebook and other social media apps are not good for ecommerce but instead this is what I wanted to point out. Most online shops run with only one owner which sometimes could not promote their product widely. Sometimes there are too many orders from the messenger to the point that some customers are neglected. And as for the customer’s side, it is hard for them to find their products with the search engine of social media since those search engines are not specifically for online shopping but for all kinds of things. Some even have to go and buy from international ecommerce sites just to get what they need even though the product they wanted also has in their country just that they have not found the shop before they found the product.

These issues are the cause that created LostWorld. LostWorld or LW is a ecommerce site that creates Cambodian online buyers and sellers to interact with each other without the above issues. Similar to other ecommerce sites we also have a system where customers can buy products without chatting to the shop directly while the shop can receive customers orders into their management database system as well as keeping track of their “online purchased” records. LostWorld is open to all online shops and any shops who want to have online customers order from them for the conveniences. As for the customers we provided search engines that are based specifically on the database that all the shops in LostWorld have. Meaning they can search for any product they are looking for as well as hashtags. As for delivery, We have collaborated with J&T Express and Virak Buntham Express to help the shopper deliver the product to their customer safely as well as secure online purchase for the transaction.

  1. Rise the competition

Winning and keeping customers especially when a Shops has millions of them  depends on doing certain things well. (Cohan) For all the shops in Cambodia to be able to join in and find a lot of customers for their business as well as compete with fellow sellers to gain more ground in the local market. Even Normal customers can also sell products if they wish to, for example When Farmer wanted to sell their crop beyond their province or when a small -time online seller wanted more reach to their product.

  1. Application for mobile phone

According to the Google, Temasek, and Bain and Company report, there are 360 million Internet users in the region and 90% of them connect to the Internet primarily through their mobile phones (Henrique). We have been building an ecommerce applications demo with app design software Figma. And now we are trying to bring it to life. We hope that it will be put to work soon.

  1. More than just shopping

We are currently planning on creating more functions for sellers such as event promotion and their sell live stream. With the influence of TikTok we are going to create similar functions with community purposes. There will also be a function for communication between customers and sellers. (Cohan) About the event, we have a billboard in the community side site to promote the event as well as on the landing page of the website for the seller to attract more customers. Home page for every Shops in the site to create more charming and show off their services. (MAO) also The ability to identify which products are selling well and ensuring that the stock levels of these products are maintained and monitored are made possible by LOSTWORLD platforms. (RITH) With this function, it will make online selling become more reachable and well known in our country.

We wanted to help online shoppers to be able to enjoy their online shopping and selling without having to worry about any kind of issues that might pop up while also being able to get what they need as long as it is within the country.

LostWorld: The name itself is pretty simple and traditional. You may change it to another word which we as Cambodian find it easy to remember because this service is based in Cambodia not worldwide.
